Iris is an all-in-one autonomous aerial vehicle with a compact and durable design. Stylish and powerful, Iris runs on the innovative Pixhawk autopilot system—the newest in advanced autopilot electronics from the PX4 open-hardware project. With wide-angled arms and a GoPro-compatible camera mount, Iris is perfect for any aerial imaging application. Add a GoPro Hero 3 for complete out-of-the-box aerial video capturing.
As part of the developer release, these pre-ordered vehicles are intended for experienced, developer-level users who are familiar and comfortable with operating multirotor vehicles from 3D Robotics. A full consumer release of Iris will follow later this year. While developer release models will arrive fully operational, developers should be prepared for major functionality changes as Iris is finalized for the consumer version, including firmware updates, feature modifications, and documentation changes. Customers purchasing Iris at this time will be invited to participate in a specialized discussion group regarding the development of this exciting new product.
